Some locals

Sometimes I forget how cute some of our native animals are.

Harlequin Shrimp

Came across this little guy during a dive off Maui. Harlequin Shrimps are tropical water shrimps found on coral reefs in the pacific and indian oceans. When I say little guys, they reach a massive 5cms at maturity and you’ll often find them living in pairs. Their main source of food are starfish including the crown of thorns starfish which is a good thing for our reef system. I’ve included a wider snapshot to show you just how small these guys are which should give you more of an appreciation for the close up shots.

Dayboro Sunset

Spent the afternoon at Dayboro waiting for a sunset after missing some magical colours the previous night. Unfortunately the colours didn’t come, but a couple of cows trotted by to keep me entertained for a little while.
