Sunbowl 2011
The 2011 Sunbowl game, the championship game for Gridiron Queensland, was held on Saturday afternoon at Langlands Park on the southside of Brisbane.
The game finished with the Gold Coast Stingrays defeating the Northside Rhinos 20-7.
Queensland v Arizona
The Queensland Junior Sundevils American Football team played against a High School representative team from Arizona, USA at Underwood Park on Saturday 11th June.
The weather was miserable, cold and very overcast. Thankfully the rain stayed away until after the final siren, but the cloud cover was thick enough to force me to shoot at ISO levels of 3200 and 6400. Imagine trying to do that 5 years ago? The colours were very rich thanks to the overcast sky, so I’ve decided to process these in black and white, and gave it some decent film grain for a real gritty appearance. Back to the game, it was a dominant performance by the Arizona team. I’m not sure of the final score, but the last I checked midway through the 3rd quarter, Arizona were up 19-0.
